One scorching summer in each others arms could never be enoughStanislav Stan Lyamin is happy playing for the Railers The towering goalie is well loved, respected, and making a home for himself even though that home only contains him, his cat, and his growing Pokemon trading card collection Stan prefers it that wayHed given his heart to a man in a secret affair, and that man walked away, leaving Stan shattered Now Erik is back in his life, and he has the same tumultuous effect he had on Stans heart as before This time its not just a kissable mouth and sweet blond curls that Erik has brought to Harrisburg, theres a soon to be ex wife and a precious babyDespite the vow Stan made to hate Erik forever, hes now finding it harder and harder to turn awayErik Gunnarssons dream had always been to play in the NHL, he just never imagined hed land a contract with the Railers Who would have thought that fate would put him on the same team as Stanislav Lyamin the man whose heart hed callously broken Secrets and lies had defined their summer relationship, and the choice that Erik made to end it all haunts him still In the middle of a messy divorce and with a baby in tow, Erik finds himself back in Stans life Now all he has to do is be the best dad he can be, prove to the team that he deserves the chance to stay on the roster and try his hardest to get Stan to forgive him Is it possible to persuade a man who hates you to give love a second chance Word Count , Good Lordy I love me some Stan He has been a wonderful constant in all the books in this fabulous series Eric and Noah are perfect for him Over the course of this book Stan s English improves but is still so funny to read.Overall I love this series and highly recommend it.I received this book as an ARC from the authors My review is purely my own. I cannot say enough how much I love Stan The most entertaining character I ve read in ages This series is awesome. Stan I ve been hoping for Stan s story from the start This was probably my favorite in the series so far One of my favorite tropes is the second chance at love Stan and Erik have a brief but passionate past Erik is trying to live through the mess he admittedly created of his life Can two men who love each other get past all the hurt and move forward I loved Erik with his son, Noah I loved Stan s fierce love and loyalty to his mother and sister Stan s sister Galina is a hoot and the whole trip to Vegas was hysterical If you ve been reading the series, you won t want to miss this If you haven t read the series, you can read this as a standalone, but you ll be missing on all the other guy s backstories and that would be a shame. If you re an RJ Scott fan like me you won t be disappointed This collaboration between RJ and VL Locey is something special I don t know how they do it, but I m so happy that these two authors put their heads together and give us such wonderful stories.I m over the moon with this series and can t wait for the next book to come out RECOMMENDED .however, I ve been a Stan fan from the first moment I met him in Changing Lines, where every subsequent book revealed his extraordinary generosity toward strays, orphans, kids, babies, and literally anyone needing a helping hand Russian NHL goalie Stanilov Stan Lyamin is a character as huge as his physical presence, a gentle, kind hearted Teddy Bear to babies, kittens, puppies and kids in general In fact, his natural proclivity toward always being gentle, goofy, and patient, perhaps exceeded only by his larger than life, massively generous heart That generosity helps mend things between Stan and Eric, who gets to finally explain how he ended up a single divorced father to nine month Noah, whom he loves to pieces, and Stan can t resist himself.Stan is so loving, gentle and wickedly generous, but also comes with a massive ego and bossy side that soon has Eric with Noah and his nanny safely moved into Stan s mansion, to the Russian s utmost satisfaction Their chemistry is off the charts sizzling hot, so much so that it s very difficult to believe Eric actually thought he d get over Stan Fortunately, Stan has about as much resistance to and control where Eric is concerned.Five stars seems inadequate even the usual strangely devoid of an acceptable conclusion didn t throw me off my liking of this book Shrug eye roll sigh It s Stan Totally worth it I was given an ARC in exchange for a review but I loved it enough to buy the published version This is my favorite of the series so far I ve re read it a couple of times since I received the ARC.Presumably because of Stan s limited but growing fluency in English, it feels like there is internal thoughts and dialogue in this book than previous books in the series, for both Erik and Stan However, that provides a lot of opportunity to know what Stan and Erik love about each other, which can be a challenge in a second chance romance that doesn t flash back to the initial romance.I also enjoyed the ongoing friendships between the teammates and learning about secondary characters, as well as friendships developed prior to being teammates The hotel breakfast scene between Erik and Conner is especially funny it makes me wonder if Conner knew what he was getting into when he became Captain of the Railers.I think my favorite aspect is getting to know Stan much better because of having his POV and the importance of family to him and seeing him achieve his dreams of home and family. I think I ve liked this one the best out of the series so far I liked that there wasn t a ton of dithering and that they just went for what they wanted and made it work despite the language barrier That said, I did find the language barrier a bit frustrating but surprisingly it didn t lead to the feeling of a lack of connection between Stan and Erik which is why I think I ve liked this one the best so far Stan and Erik connected on a heart level completely.I think there was a glaring issue with never addressing Stan s citizenship that should have been discussed and dealt with that did leave the book with a feeling of unresolved, serious issues. Oh how I love this series This budding romance is just the sweetest The main characters have a thing one summer, complications end the relationship abruptly, a year or so later they re playing for the same team and bingo, sparks fly again and one character plays hard to get, until he sees the babythen he s a gonna One click and find out what I m twittering on about It ll be so worth it.This series is just brilliant Another amazing story in their Harrisburg Railers series StanStanStan Sigh.I have been fascinated with him since Changing Lanes saga with Ten and Jared I wanted to see of him and get his backstory How this loveable, slightly strange and totally adorable giant of a man can be so open, caring and friendly without having someone in his life Then we find out about Erik the beautiful Swedish hockey player who sadly broke Stan s heart In his attempt to do the right thing for his child AND his and Stan s careers, Erik made a mess Nothing was right, both of them alone and hurting, until Erik told the truth to Stan The adage of The Truth Will Set You Free helps both Stan AND Erik in their coming together again Stan, this larger than life man, just wants to be happy To have his family, husband and children happy and with him To have the American Dream.
